Dry Needling

Dry needling uses the same needles as acupuncture, however the philosophy and physiological basis of treatment is different to traditional Chinese medicine. Whereas acupuncture references meridian points and energy flow, dry needling is based on Western anatomical and physiological principles.

Hijama/Wet Cupping

‘Hijama’ or wet cupping is an ancient traditional medicine practice. The process involves drawing blood from various points on the body by creating small incisions (using a thin needle or blade) in the skin and then drawing out deoxygenated “bad” blood through suction cups. Darker blood may indicate higher levels of inflammation and removal helps to detoxify the body by improving blood circulation. People choose to routinely do hijama on a 3-6 months basis on generalised points around the back or can also choose to do focused hijama points to target specific issues close to the site of pain or inflammation such as around the knee or shoulders.

Y strap

Y strap is a decompression tool used to stretch the back to release pressure from the vertebrae along the spine from top to bottom.

It is inspired by manual spine traction techniques in the Y-Axis to help reduce the tension in the vertebrae along the spine.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive medical treatment that utilizes high-energy shockwaves to stimulate healing and reduce pain in various musculoskeletal conditions and soft tissue injuries. During a shockwave therapy session, a device generates acoustic waves that are directed toward the affected area of the body. These shockwaves trigger increased blood flow, tissue regeneration, and the release of natural healing factors, promoting the body’s ability to repair damaged tissues and reduce pain and inflammation. Shockwave therapy is commonly used to treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, calcific shoulder, and more, offering a safe and effective alternative to surgery or medication for certain patients.
